Who upgraded their phone to gingerbread can follow below Guide to Root their phones and IF you not upgraded samsung galaxy ace to gingerbread android you have to upgrade it first. and than follow this guide
Okay Lets start 
- Download the file from here
- Load the file on the SD card phone
- Switch off your phone and on again in recovery mode (Hold down the center button and turn on the phone)
- Move with the balancing of the volume on “update from SD card”
- Select the file into memory AceGingerbread2.3.3Root.zip SD
- Wait until the confirmation screen
- Click on “reboot in normal mode” to restart the phone
Now the phone should have received permission to root properly, first check if the application menu icon found Superuser.
Note that for the moment the only way to make unroot, or disable root permissions, is to restore the factory records of the phone. Please note that this is a delicate procedure, we do not assume any responsibility in case of problems, but if you follow Guide step by step care, nothing will happen

i got Samsung Ace and its still in Froyo Android 2.2.1 and i really wanted it to be upgraded to gingerbread but im just a little bit scared to do so.. my phone’s baseband version is S5830DXKC1 and the kernel version is 2.6.32.9-perfroot@SE-S604#f (does this mean my phone was rooted? and do i need to unroot first before i upgradE?) thns for a help to come.

Hi,, i bought galaxy ace some 20 days back ,,, it keeps switching off on its own once everyday ,,, this is happening since past 7 days ,, i got it checked in samsung service 2 days ago ,, they reinstalled the software and asked not to use memory card for 2 days ,,, today i inserted the memory card ,,, and switched on wifi ,, phone got switched off once again ,, i changed the memory card it again switched off once again after few mins,,,,, should i ask for replacement … will i get new phone if its a manufacturing defect ,,, i am thinking of filing a complaint in consumer act ,,, kindly suggest me what to do ,,,,

As you said when memory card inserted your phone got problem again, as my point of view it is fault of mmc not phone , if it is fault of phone then it can be fixed via updating to the latest firmware.

Before going to anywhere ,please try to fix it via updating , and dont use any memory card . only use brand new memory card that is fully formated via a good PC

This will not root your phone, Rooting and Upgrading are different tasks
and i am not sure about arabic keyboard
i stay at malaysia..and all the apps were gone..those apps can backup or not??

After upgrading to 2.3.4 there is little improvement in GPS and internet , some users are saying wi-fi giving some errors. and all apps that are supported by 2.2 , are absolutely supported by 2.3.4

for what i know, we cant configure the setting in gingerbread, but in froyo we can.. but it seems, the gps locking time in gingerbread faster than froyo after i have rooted it, and fixed it with fasterfix and updated A-gps data.
but still i am totally agree with u, OVI maps rocks! and the locking time is so much more faster!

when still with froyo 2.2, after root, I can move many application to SD card, like FB, friencaster, whatsapp and many more……but after upgrading to 2.3.4 GB, and having root as per above step, i don’t think will move those app…

Hi! I just tried this on my Galaxy Ace GT-S5830L with 2.3.4 (LUBKP7) and it did not work for me. After selecting the zip file from the SD card, the process starts and I get a message saying “Installation aborted” or somthing like that… the keyword is aborted. Does this problem sound familiar with you?

Rooting have only one disadvantage, it voids warranty. For flash there are still problems with Ace
