How to Update Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 with Android 4 ICS Styled Myth Custom Rom

Samsung Galaxy Ace is one of most used android phones today. Cause of its optimum quality it has high rating of buyers. But now it’s become not much succeeded, cause of launching of new apps and special features that needs new released ROMs.

But now XDA developers are trying to make it better again. In this manner a new custom ROM named “Myth” is recently launched by them, that is mainly based on Gingerbread 2.3.5 BUKSI but have the features and UI just same to the Android 4.0.1 ICS.

So we can also say it the first ICS for Samsung Galaxy ACE. So make a smile on your face and be ready to apply this ICS update in your Galaxy ACE.

Now let’s start the task and fill the pre- requisites first.

 

(1). Prepare your phone

1). Make a backup of all your required and important things like SD card, SMS, Contacts, Call logs, APN and MMS settings etc. and such other that are related to your phone to prevent the risk of data lose during the process cause of any kind of sudden error.

Note: Don’t use KIES to backup as KIES won’t be detecting the phone after this update since it’s a custom ROM.

2). This update require rooting access, so first root your Galaxy ACE. Check out  our rooting section for your desire rooting task

3). Charge your Galaxy ACE battery at least 75%.

4). Enable the USB debugging mode by going to Settings>> Applications>> Developments>> USB debugging. And here just ticked the “USB debugging” option.

 

(2). Download Required Files

And the last one download the ICS firmware (zip) just below and save it to your PC.

(3). Follow the Procedure to install rom

Step 1). First of all you have to copied the firmware file into root of your phone’s SD card, so copy it using your USB cable.

Note: Don’t place the firmware file in deep of your SD card it will hard to detect.

Step 2). After copying plug out the USB cable and get your into recovery mode, to do that switch off your phone then press and hold the “Menu” button + “Power” button simultaneously until you enter in recovery mode.

Step 3). After entering in recovery mode choose  “install zip from sdcard” option then “choose zip from sdcard” option.

Step 4). Now browse and select the copied firmware file (ICS Android 4.0) zip from your SD card and wait to install the ROM.

Step 5). After completion of flashing just go back to the main menu clear out the Cache partition.

Step 6). After this just reboot your ACE by choosing the option “reboot system now” from the main menu of recovery mode.
