Doesn’t work to me… Different package from another tutorial, but it doesn’t work either… The SU app is installed but it doesn’t display any apps in its list, and when i try an app that does require root, it says root is not installed…

  • Clarify me please

Hi, i’ve just bought my samsung galaxy gio and i’m new in android. I would like u to answer me a few questions before i do the root:
-My device is locked to vodafone, will it still work?
-Once my phone is brand new do i really need to do any backup?
-i download the zip. File from my gio and copy it into sd card or do i download it for my computer and then copy to sdcard?
-when i connect the phone to PC does the phone need to be in the debugging mode?
-is there any possibility to unroot, or to do any upgrade that doesn’t void the warranty?

I’m sorry if i asked some dumb questions but it’s my first android, and i want to do this carefully. Thanks

Theoretically we can root , but i haven’t tested it on Vodafone

–backup if you want to reduce risk of losing data

      http://androidflip.com/how-to-backup-data-before-upgrading-android-phone/

–no need to use pc , we need .zip in sd and we have ;)

–no need to connect phone to pc in debugging mode

–yes we can unroot our phone by installing new firmware Or install same firmware again

Asking question is great even Einstein asked a lot questions

      • 2nd help

Ok i’Ve done the root and almost all went good.. But when i click the superuser icon i have nothing on the apps list, and nothing in the log list too.. It says “no app list” and “no log information” respectively. Is this normal? Or there is a place to get the required root apps?
Thank u for ur attention :)
