How To Install Clockwork Mod Recovery (CWM) on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

Very good news for Samsung galaxy ace users

Clockwork Mod Recovery for galaxy ace is officially available

Android phones have many good features inbuilt but when it comes to root user we need more custom option for using our phone at its best.

Android recovery mode is such a great and useful utility. with recovery mode we can flash .zip packages , clear cache and factory reset our phone.

Clockwork Mod Recovery is a extended recovery with many useful features like –

  1. Install zip from sdcard option will allow us to install Custom ROMs , Just put a .zip file and install , it is lot more easier option because no need to pc and Odin
  2. You can make full system backup on your sd card and restore them as well
  3. It allows you to mount several locations and also format SD card or SD card in ext.
  4. and it also have some advance options like reboot in recovery mode, wipe dalvik cache, report error, fix permissions and partition sdcard.
    To enjoy all of these features we will install Clockwork Mod recovery on our phone , so lets start -
    Install this recovery only if you are on gingerbread (2.3.x) firmware and also have root permissions. if you are not on gingerbread and root permissions then follow these guides first

Instructions to install Clockwork Mod Recovery

  1. After downloading you will get ‘ClockWorkModAce.zip’ file, save it on desktop and don’t extract it
  2. Connect your phone to pc and copy ‘ClockWorkModAce.zip’ file to SD card as it is
  3. Disconnect your phone from pc,
  4. Now Switch off your phone and in switch off condition,
  5. press and hold Middle key + Power on key until you see default recovery

    In this mode touch screen will not work , so use volume keys to navigate through options and middle key to select/confirm


  6. Select ‘Apply Update from SDcard’ option in recovery menu
  7. Browse and select ‘ClockWorkModAce.zip’ file
  8. Once done select reboot system now option

You have installed Clockwork Mod Recovery on your Galaxy Ace successfully , whenever you will go to recovery (middle+power on key) you will see new CWM recovery instead of old :)

      First wipe all cache
      Then re install firmware using Odin (note- make backup before doing this , it will delete all data)

      switch off your phone

      Then select “wipe cache partition”

    hey…i have upgraded my phn then rooted it and now installed the clockwork recovery mode too…now how can i backup my entire phone and try new roms widout fear of loosin my data??

      Reboot your phone in clockwork mod recovery (switch off your phone then press and hold middle key + power on key)

      There select option backup & restore

    I installed cwm 4.0.0.9 in 2.3.4 xxkph. checked in recovery mode and it is there. however, there is no superuser icon in apps drawer. root checker verified that my sga does not have proper root access. how do i go about now. do i need to reinstall or upgrade to cwm 5? if so, how do i go about? i want to flash firstUA rom which requires xxkph. Thank you.

    I have installed cgyogen mod in my galaxy ace and after some time when i power off or reboot the phone it starts in recovery mode why ?
    when u get free plzz giv the solution , as i have downloadeded the rom xda forum !! previously i was on ICS Myth …. Plz provide the solution !!!

    my phone samsung galaxy young not boot after apply this file by update from sd card option. its now just showing the boot screen and not continue with normal phone screen process. I am worry.
