5 Ways to Use Your Android Smartphone as a Study Weapon

College can be difficult, so it is important to use every resource possible to stay ahead. Although you probably already have a few tricks that help you to study, you should also know that your smartphone is an excellent tool that can help you to succeed in college.

1. Make Use Of Your Alarm

Think that the only use for your alarm is to wake you up in time for class? Think again! Long periods of studying can easily leave you stressed and tired, and you may not be able to think well if you have been studying for a long time.

By using your alarm, you can schedule periodic study breaks. When the alarm sounds, you know it’s time to take a quick break for a snack or just to stretch, and you can even program your alarm to sound once again when it’s time to get back to work.

2. Take Notes With Your Phone

Between classes, work, friends, and bills, you probably have a lot on your plate. Relying on memory alone can get you in a lot of trouble, so it is important to always take notes of important information.

Although you probably use your laptop or a traditional pen and paper while you are in class, information isn’t always found in the classroom setting. Whether a classmate has shared an interesting tip or if you simply need to jot something down the moment you think about it, you can use the notepad on your smartphone to keep your notes close to you. You can then sync them with the notes on your laptop later.

3. Use Your Calendar To Plan Your Life

Failing to use the calendar option on their smartphone is one of the most common mistakes people make. Smartphones include very handy calendar features, and you can use your calendar to keep track of upcoming school events, test dates, due dates for homework and much more.

Many smartphone calendars can be set to notify you as these events are getting closer, giving you a handy reminder and additional opportunities to plan for upcoming projects and tests ahead of time.

4. Save Important Phone Numbers

It is easy to lose random slips of paper, but you are far less likely to lose your phone. Make a habit of storing important phone numbers in your smartphone.

So that you never have to worry about searching for a tiny scrap of paper when you need it. Many professors give out their office telephone numbers and some even give out their home phone numbers on the class syllabus, and it is a smart idea to save these numbers in case you need them. It’s also a good idea to save the phone numbers of a few of your classmates in case you forget about an important assignment or need help studying for a quiz.

5. Keep An Eye Out for Handy Apps

New apps are created for smartphones on a daily basis, and you probably already keep an eye out for intriguing games and other apps. It is a good idea to also look for helpful apps that can help you to succeed in school. Below are a few of the best-rated apps that just might save your grade:

  • Evernote
  • Flashcard Touch

  • Wikipedia
  • CueBrain

Although most people think of smartphones as a social device, they are actually helpful in a variety of other situations. Staying organized is one of the first steps of success, and organization is much easier with the help of some of the most basic features of your smartphone.
